Some of you might remember the post I made in February 2010 about names. Okay many of you probably don't, but that's alright, there's the link to refresh your memory.
As we anxiously await our third child there has yet again been much discussion about names. We have a girls name picked out, that was simple. We're using the name we had picked had Isaac been a girl. Just as Isaac was the boy name we had picked if Lily had been a boy.
And then there's a boys name. Karl and I are having an awful time agreeing on a boys name. So awful that we have yet to fine one name that the two of us like. Not a single one! This would be much more simple if Karl would just like the good names that I have mentioned, but no, that has not happened.
We've asked Lil's opinion about a boy name several times. The first time we asked, she suggested the name Jackie Chan. Today she actually mentioned a name that I like, but yet again, Karl does not like the name.
I'm sure in the next 5 months we'll come to an agreement on a name. And you never know we might not need a boy name at all. We'll just have to wait until November to know for sure.

A heartbeat, a tooth, and a roadtrip...
Yesterday we had a doctors appointment. It was short but good. The doctor listened for baby's heatbeat and found it very quickly! Always a great relief to hear the heart beating. He also mentioned that once he can hear the heartbeat in the exam room the chances of a miscarriage drop drastically! Our next appointment will be on April 1. We'll also have an ultrasound that day. It will be neat to get to see the little peanut again. And that just happens to be Karl's birthday!
Also yesterday Lily lost her second tooth. This may not seem like big news, but to Lil it is! She didn't tell us until yesterday morning that it was loose. Then after school she was messing with it and next thing I know she's yelling that it's out!
Next weekend we're taking a roadtrip to Cincinnatti to stay at a hotel/water park and see some friends. I'm very excited about this trip. It will be nice to get away, spend some time with family, and visit with a friend I don't get too see very often (not to mention getting to meet her baby son and see their new house!!).
Last year at this time we were preparing for our trip to Disney World. We all still have very fond memories of this trip and can not wait to go back!

Praising God for Current Day Miracles
December 23, 2005 after some painful tests the doctor told Karl and I that both of my tubes were damaged and I would not be able to become pregnant. He referred us to a specialist who works with infertility. That doctor told us we had two options. The first was to have surgery to repair the tube, but he did not recommend this as it wasn't guaranteed it would work and it if did, my chances of another ectopic pregnancy would be high. The second option was in-vitro fertilization. A procedure that was very costly and to be honest I had some ethical issues with the idea.
It took me a long time to get to the point where I was "okay" with the fact that we wouldn't haven't any more kids. Don't get me wrong, I was grateful for Lily, the wonderful daughter God had already blessed us with. But I longed for another child.
God knew the desires of our heart and even though we didn't know it at the time our prayers for another child weren't answered with a "no" but simply "in my timing." What an awesome God we serve! December 20, 2009 we found out we were expecting. Karl and I were both excited and scared. But two ultrasounds later we're very excited that our little peanut is doing well!
